BUS passengers affected by a road closure this week can still travel by boarding a free shuttle bus.

Crosshill Road in Bishopbriggs is closed for resurfacing works from 9am to 4pm each day until this Friday (March 1).

During the closure, First Glasgow’s service 88 will be diverted onto Kirkintilloch Road to Kirkintilloch town centre, omitting the Gallowhill area on its journey. Notices have placed in bus stops affected.

To ensure passengers in Gallowhill can still travel, a free shuttle bus operated by First Glasgow will be available from alternative stops on Boghead Road and Gallowhill Road for travel to and from Kirkintilloch town centre for interchange with service 88.

Councillor Alan Moir, convener of development and infrastructure, said: “I appreciate the inconvenience the closure of Crosshill Road will cause to the travelling public within the area and everything is being done to ensure the necessary works are completed as quickly as possible.

“Clear diversions will be in place and we would ask that people leave extra time for their journeys whilst these essential road works are carried out.”
