LAIRDSLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL EM 27/11/09

PARENTS, teachers, young people and other stakeholders came together for the first phase of a major consultation on primary schools in East Dunbartonshire.

The council wants to look at options to tackle falling school rolls.

Primary schools in East Dunbartonshire are under occupied by 37 per cent.

Parents, teachers, young people and other stakeholders were invited to workshops in Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs.

In Kirkintilloch, around 40 representatives from local groups took part and in Bishopbriggs 20 representatives attended.

The wider community will have the chance to complete a questionnaire on primary schools later in the year.
