A cycling group is offering people free bike loans as part of an environmental and healthy-living initiative.
ED’s Cycle Co-op, based in Huntershill Village, Bishopbriggs, has a range of high-quality bikes available for two-week loans.
Those interested will simply have to supply proof of ID, a £50 deposit and live in the Bishopbriggs area.
The group hopes to use the growing popularity of cycling to reduce local fuel emissions and improve people’s health.
Mark Kiehlmann, founder ED’s Cycle Co-op, said: “Now is an ideal time to pop into our Bike Service Centre and pick up a free loan bike to try cycling for a couple of weeks.
“We can support you and your family travel more sustainably in the local area.”
Local man Raymond Friel has already sampled the bike loan service.
He said:“Getting a free loan bike to try cycling is ideal.
“Having such a range to choose from really helped me decide what to buy, know the style that suited me and my style of riding.”
