People in Torrance are being urged to have their say on plans to modernise their post office.
They include extending opening hours and turning the Main Street office into an open-plan retail area.
A public consultation on changes runs until April 8.
East Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson said: “It’s important the new service meets local needs as the post office is vital for community life.
“I encourage Torrance residents who may be affected by the proposals to take part in the consultation.”
Under the new plans, the local branch would open from 9am-5.30pm from Monday to Friday, and from 9am-1pm on Saturday. It would also remain open over lunch and according to the Post Office Ltd the majority of current products and services will still be available.
Post Office area manager Anne Clark said: “We understand how important having a post office is in Torrance. We are confident this new, modern service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme and marks a commitment to no more branch closures.”
