GUN really smokin' in Kirkintilloch
ONE of Scotland's smallest music venues has triumphantly hosted one of the country's biggest bands.
GUN played an intimate gig at Bar Bliss, in Kirkintilloch, last Wednesday, just a day before they went on tour with supergroup, Lynyrd Skynyrd.
The band, which formed in 1987, entertained 100 excited fans for an hour and a half with a greatest hits set which included their classic cover of 'Word Up.'
Bar Bliss owner John Bowman said: "It was something we had been planning for ages.
" I have always been a bit of a GUN fan so it was good for me and I was absolutely flattered when they agreed to play. It's Scotland's biggest band in Scotland's smallest venue.
"Everyone loved it and the band enjoyed it as well.
"A lot of people thought it was a tribute act when we started advertising, but it was the real thing.
"Hopefully, it will open doors and we will have some more bigger names coming to Kirkintilloch."
The band, who recently released their new album, Popkiller, and once supported the Rolling Stones, have now promised to return to the venue in October following their fantastic reception.
