Residents are being asked for their views on proposed changes to Lenzie Post Office - which includes increased opening hours.
A new operator has been found to take on the branch in its current location in Kirkintilloch Road.
Post Office chiefs would like the branch to convert to one of their new ‘local’ models in January next year which would include changes such as increased hours with the branch open Monday to Saturday from 8am–6pm.
The current engagement process follows Post Office Ltd’s decision not to go ahead with the proposed relocation of the Lenzie branch to the Scotmid Co-op on Gallowhill Road.
East Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson said: “There were over 400 responses to the consultation and the overwhelming majority were for the Post Office to stay where it was – in the heart of Lenzie.
“I am delighted that Post Office Ltd has listened to the views of my constituents and has used the findings to find a more suitable solution for Lenzie’s community and the outgoing sub postmaster.
