Hotel and health plans for eyesore oil depot in Bishopbriggs

AN unsightly former oil depot could be transformed into a hotel, offices, healthcare facilities and a depot if plans are given the green light.
Westerhill Developments has lodged a planning application for the land in Westerhill Road in Bishopbriggs.
The site has lain empty for more than 40 years and is regularly labelled an eyesore by local residents.
It used to house a Shell-Mex petrol distribution centre.
The developers held an exhibition of the plans in September.
Bishopbriggs Community Council has welcomed the proposals.
The application will be considered at a future meeting of East Dunbartonshire Council’s planning board.
