Many football fans will be saddened to hear that the end of an era is fast approaching for Kirkintilloch Rob Roy as the club prepares to leave its famous Adamslie Park home.

The ground has been sold to developers and from next season Rabs will play their home games at Cumbernauld United’s Guy’s Meadow Park.

However, looking to the future, Rob Roy have unveiled ambitious plans for a new, purpose built, community stadium in the Southbank area of Kirkintilloch.

So hopefully it won’t be too long before they are back playing in Kirky once more.

Adamslie Park has been the venue for many great games and witnessed many talented players turning out for Rabs over the decades.

To mark the end of an era as the club embarks on what we all hope is a positive and successful future, the Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs Herald would like to publish fans’ memories of the great Adamsie Park days over the years. E-mail us at kirkyherald@jnscotland.co.uk
