A supermarket has teamed up with caring shoppers to help out those having a tough time financially.
Bosses at the Kirkintilloch branch of Sainsbury’s have been urging customers to buy an extra item of food during their weekly shop and donate it to nearby Kirkintilloch Baptist Church’s Food Bank.
And Sainsbury’s have topped up the trolley themselves, to help ensure no local people go hungry.
The food is distributed to people referred to the food bank by social services.
Pictured with two trolley-loads of donations are Irene McCaig and Colin McDermott, from Kirkintilloch Baptist Church, and store manager Carol Gardner.
