A SINGER who is tipped for great things is close to releasing her debut album - thanks to her army of fans.

Katie Sutherland, who supported Elton John under her former ‘Pearl and the Puppets’ stage name, has already raised 84 per cent of the cash needed to release her album from supporters on the PledgeMusic website.

She hopes to reach her target in the next month - with the final touches being put to her record.

Those who support the album are being rewarded with a huge range of exclusive goodies - everything from signed t-shirts and goodie-bags to appearing in the singer’s next video or joining her backstage at a gig.

Katie and her fans will not be the only people to benefit should the album be released.

Speaking on her website, Katie explained: “A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to CHAS, which is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

“It’s another great reason to get involved, so please dig deep and lets make a difference while we make a record.”

Katie’s next gig is at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Saturday, April 7.
