Land up for grabs in centre of Kirkintilloch

GOT £66k to spare? Then you could be the proud developer of 66 new homes.

Land has been earmarked on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal for 66 luxury flats.

The site was previously used by the Seagull Trust, who ran cruises from their now-vacant boathouse.

Planning permission for '66 flats and duplexes' was granted to Strathkelvin Development Company in 2006 and, now that the Seagull Trust has moved to the nearby Southbank Marina, the land is up for sale for offers of over 595,000.

Promotional material claims that the plot extends to around 0.5 hectares, with a canal location which would provide a "pleasant outlook for potential residents".
