Left in a spin by washing machine thieves ... just one of a spate of strange crimes

A BIZARRE theft saw light-fingered thieves cart off a heavy washing machine in Bishopbriggs.

Two men were seen taking it from the garden of the home at Spynie Place on Friday, October 12, between 9am and 10pm.

In a separate incident, a 32-year-old man was charged with breaking into a garden shed and stealing a quantity of tools in Kirkintilloch Road, Bishopbriggs, between Friday, October 12, and the following morning.

Meanwhile, in another bizarre theft, an electric golf bag carrier worth £320 has been stolen from Hayston Golf Club, in Kirkintilloch.

Police have appealed for information and can be contacted by calling 0141 532 4400.
