Locals left fuming by plumes of smoke from tyre blaze

VANDALS caused a huge cloud of smoke after setting fire to a pile of tyres.

The blaze was started in a field in Auchengeich Road in Moodiesburn on Saturday, July 21, at around 6pm.

Firefighters spent more than two hours at the scene and said the smoke could be seen for miles.

Police are appealing for anyone with information on the fire to contact them at Cumbernauld on 01236 503 900.
