Masterplan for Kirkintilloch given backing by new restaurant boss

THE developer behind a new bar/restaurant at a historic site in Kirkintilloch has backed efforts to revitalise the town centre.

Peter Di Ciacca, director of Jacca Leisure, is the driving force behind Nonna’s Kitchen – a new bar/restaurant, function suite and delicatessen at the former Eagle Inn in Cowgate.

His decision to invest in Kirkintilloch was due to recent developments in the town and its future potential.

He said: “We saw the new link road and housing development going into the area and thought from a commercial perspective the town centre in Kirkintilloch was a strategic location for our company’s continued growth.

“We are a family business and this is a significant investment for the company.

“Therefore, it is in our interest to make sure we are committed to growing with the community together in partnership. We need to make the town a more attractive and competitive retail centre.”

The Kirkintilloch Town Centre Business Forum meets at Smiths Hotel on Wednesday, March 27, from 3pm to 5pm.

Shops and businesses with hopes, suggestions or concerns about Kirkintilloch town centre are being urged to have their say.

The central theme is ‘how will the town centre remain relevant and competitive now and into the future?’.
