Mixed reaction over town centre masterplan
RESIDENTS have had their say over ambitious plans to transform Bishopbriggs town centre.
Supermarket giants Morrisons unveiled their revised masterplan at a public exhibition last week.
They want to build a new state-of-the-art store, 450 space car park and a petrol station on the site of the former Bishopbriggs High School.
The plans also include a community hub, medical centre and civic space area.
The development will cost around £25million and bring 100 jobs to the area.
More than 200 people attended the exhibition.
While some welcomed the plans, others raised concerns.
These included the volume of traffic the new store would bring through an already busy town centre.
Concerns were also raised about plans to have a petrol station in the heart of the town centre.
