MP Jo joins Clegg's team

MP Jo Swinson MP has been appointed Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs by new Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg.

Ms Swinson said: "I am delighted to take up this exciting and challenging foreign affairs role.

"I look forward to speaking on behalf of Liberal Democrats on Iraq and Afghanistan, European issues and more.

"Nick Clegg has put together a hugely dynamic and capable frontbench team, which I am thrilled to be a part of."

Nick Clegg said: "I am determined to make the most of talented individuals like Jo Swinson, who is typical of the bright young generation of MPs we have within the Liberal Democrats."
