Parents steamed up over heating

THE heat is on at Lenzie Academy ... or not, as the case may be.

Last month, pupils had to be sent home when the heating failed.

Engineers were sent out and partly restored the heating later that day.

However, a parent claims there is still major problems.

She said: "I believe there is talk of putting in a new boiler, but that could take weeks with the council's tendering process.

"In the meantime, staff are going round in the morning with thermometers to check the temperature in classes.

"And heaters are being used in an area which is completely without heating."

An East Dunbartonshire Council spokesperson confirmed there are plans to install a new boiler at the school.
