Police are appealing for witnesses after a man exposed himself on a canal path.
A 30-year-old woman was targeted at around 6pm on Wednesday, May 21, on the canal path near Alloway Grove, in Kirkintilloch - an area known locally as the ‘pipey’.
The man is described as a white male, approximately 5ft8in–5ft9in tall with a pale complexion.
He was late teens–early twenties, wearing a dark hooded top and dark bottoms and had a black-coloured Alsatian type dog with him.
Detective Sergeant David MacGregor said: “This was an upsetting experience for the woman. Fortunately no attempt was made to approach her and she is physically unharmed but distressed by this incident.
“I would appeal to anyone who recognises the description of the suspect or remembers seeing a man with a black dog, possibly Alsatian, to contact police.
“Although it is a remote area, it is popular with cyclists, dog walkers and pedestrians and I would ask anyone who was in the general area to get in touch.”
Witnesses should call the non emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
