Take a trip back in time with exhibition this weekend

AN exhibition and heritage trail centred around North Glasgow will be launched this Sunday (September 16).

Monuments that Move Me is a creative heritage project which has worked with young people across North Glasgow to explore local heritage sites in order to increase their awareness of their local history.

The young people not only researched the history of monuments, but they were also inspired to produce creative responses to the heritage sites.

There will also be the launch of the Monuments that Move Heritage Trail, which highlights 10 key monuments in North Glasgow.

To celebrate the launch there will be art activities taking place at Springburn Exhibition Space and there will also be rickshaws giving people free rides to three of the featured heritage sites: the Heritage and Hope plinth at Atlas Square in Springburn; Possilpark Canopied Fountain at Saracen Cross in Possil; and Sighthill Stone Circle in Sighthill Park, off Pinkston Drive.

The Monuments that Move Me Exhibition will take place on Sunday at Springburn Exhibition Space from 12-4pm. It’s a free event.

Even if you don’t make it to Springburn, you can still visit one of the featured heritage sites for fun and games anytime between 12-4pm.
