Teenager caught brandishing wooden post in Kirkintilloch

A TEENAGER has been charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon after allegedly being caught carrying a large piece of wooden fencing.

Police swooped on the 16-year-old boy in Waterloo Close, Kirkintilloch, at around 9.50pm on Friday, January 18.

In a separate incident on the same day a 14-year-old boy was charged with causing a public disturbance in Hillhead Road, Kirkintilloch, at around 9.40pm.

Police also charged a teenager with drinking in public.

The 17-year-old was allegedly caught with alcohol in Callieburn Road, Bishopbriggs. The incident took place at around 10.10pm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a man has been arrested after allegedly being caught carrying valium.

Police charged the 39-year-old with drugs offences at around 9.25am on Thursday, January 17, in Kirkintilloch’s Cowgate.
