Teenager knocked down by hit-and-run driver
A YOUNG woman suffered a serious arm injury after being mown down by a hit-and-run driver.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 18-year-old was knocked down in Dennistoun on Friday, January 13.
The incident took place at around 8.20pm when she was struck by a dark saloon car as she crossed Alexandra Parade at Cumbernauld Road.
The driver stopped and spoke briefly to her before making off again in the car. The teenager was taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she was detained for two days suffering from a serious injury to her arm. She has since been released.
The driver of the car, who drove off in the direction of the city centre, is described as being white, 25 to 35-years-old, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins in height and of medium build.
He had a scar on his chin and was wearing dark clothing, with an unkempt appearance.
