Teenagers discover woman’s body

THE body of a young woman was discovered by a group of teenagers at a disused factory unit in Springburn.

Police were called to the scene in Cowlairs Road yesterday (Wednesday) at around 2.30pm.

Detectives are treating the death of the woman, believed to be in her 30s, as suspicious.

The woman has yet to be identified.

Detective Inspector Brian Dodd said: “A post mortem examination is expected to take place this afternoon to establish the exact cause of death.

“The body was found in an isolated area however I would ask anyone who frequents this part of Springburn and saw anyone or anything suspicious to come forward. Meanwhile, extra patrols will be in the area.”
