The Goalie heads for Kirkintilloch
ONE of the finest shotstoppers to ever grace Scottish football – the man simply known as 'The Goalie' – will be making a special appearance in Kirkintilloch.
Former Scotland international and Rangers legend Andy Goram will be visiting the town's William Patrick Library on Saturday, September 11, at 11am to discuss his career and his book – 'The Goalie'.
Voted the Ibrox club's greatest ever goalkeeper by fans, Goram played an integral part in securing Rangers' nine-in-a-row league triumphs in the 1990s.
Councillor Amanda Stewart, convener of East Dunbartonshire's housing and community services committee, said: "This is a great opportunity for football fans to come along to the William Patrick Library to find out more about Andy's career.
"Remember to get your ticket first."
The event is free, but ticketed and the only way to make sure of a brief is to contact William Patrick Library in Kirkintilloch on 0141 775 4524.
Meanwhile, author Rodge Glass will be appearing with various contributors to discuss a new collection of contemporary short stories at William Patrick Library on Saturday, September 11.
The Kirkintilloch event, which begins at 2.30pm, will celebrate the publication of 'The Year of Open Doors', which features a number of critically-acclaimed writers alongside new authors.
