Thugs “jump” man in broad daylight outside busy supermarket in Kirkintilloch

POLICE are pleading for help after a man was assaulted and robbed outside Sainsbury’s in Kirkintilloch.

The 36-year-old was mugged by two men in broad daylight in the car park between Sainsbury’s and Kirkintilloch Baptist Church (pictured).

The pair then fled with cash after the attack – which happened at around 6.15pm on Friday, June 8.

Both suspects are described as being aged 30-35, between 5ft5ins and 6ft tall, and were wearing dark jackets.

DC Baillie of Kirkintilloch CID said: “The area is usually busy at this time of the evening and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information regarding it to contact me at Kirkintilloch CID on 0141 532 4400 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
