Tom pledges to carry on cancer fight at Stobhill
Stobhill Hospital
A CAMPAIGNER fighting to secure cancer treatments at Stobhill Hospital has vowed to carry on despite losing his wife to the disease.
Lenzie man Tom Herbert sadly lost his wife Margaret recently following a long battle with cancer.
However, Tom has assured the Herald that he will soon be pursuing the campaign to secure cancer treatment services at Stobhill once again.
Supporters want chemotherapy to be provided at the ‘new’ Stobhill Hospital as was stated in original plans.
Currently patients from Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs and surrounding areas have to travel to the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre at Gartnavel Hospital for treatment.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde maintains that, having investigated all options, that chemotherapy will only be provided from the Beatson and the Victoria Infirmary.
