Torrance cyclist set to take on one of sport’s greatest challenges

A CYCLIST is preparing to follow in the slipstream of Olympic hero Bradley Wiggins when he takes on the gruelling Tour De France route later this year.

Neill Kemp (36) is a member of the Glasgow Nightingale Cycle Club, based in Torrance, and will travel to the Continent in June to take part in the ‘Tour de Force’.

Starting on June 22 - a week before the official Tour de France - the amateur cyclists will follow the same 21 stages as the professionals, finishing at the Champs Elysees in Paris.

Neill will be taking on the exhausting 3,500km to raise cash for the William Wates Memorial Trust - an organisation which gives grants to charities which support disadvantaged young people.
