Walk on to bright future
THIS weekend will see the official launch of a scheme recognising Kirkintilloch as a walker's paradise.
Kirkintilloch has been awarded Walkers are Welcome status and Penny Sinclair, who single-handedly campaigned for the accolade, will hold an event to mark the honour at the Kirkintilloch Miners Welfare Club on Saturday (July 31) at 11am.
The event, which will feature a speech from East Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson, will be followed by two specially-organised walks near the town.
