Warning to pet owners after double dog attack near Milton of Campsie
DOG owners have been urged to keep their pets under control after a man was attacked TWICE by the same animal.
The Milton of Campsie resident says the ordeal happened while he was out for a stroll near the village, on the Strathkelvin Walkway, in September last year.
On that occasion he was bitten badly on the arm and had to go to Stobhill Hospital for treatment.
More recently he was running on the walkway and was chased by the same dog.
He told the Herald: “I’m a dog lover so I decided to let it go as ‘one of these things’.
“But I was running on the path recently and the same dog tried to attack me again.
“Something really needs to be done, because it’s awful to think what would happen if a child was the next victim.
“I understand that the police can’t really do anything, because there isn’t enough evidence, but I would say to dog owners - if you can’t keep your pet under control then you need to use a muzzle.
“I don’t blame the dogs - it’s the owners who are at fault.”
