Watch the skies over Kirkintilloch!
THE UFO phenomena in East Dunbartonshire has taken another twist, with a mum and her young son reporting another sighting in the area.
Kathleen Scanlan and nine-year-old son Peter saw two orange balls hovering over Kirkintilloch as they unpacked their car at their home in Milton of Campsie on the night of Wednesday, January 27.
Kathleen said the two balls, which were slightly apart, were the size of footballs and moving together diagonally. They then became smaller and disappeared.
The mum-of-three is now desperate to find out what the orbs were and insists, because of their shape, she does not think they were chinese lanterns.
Kathleen said: "I have never seen anything like it before.
"It was a bit strange. I did not want to move away and stop watching them.
"I didn't know what it was, I was just kind of mesmerised. I know it was definitely not a plane. I could see it as it got smaller.
"My wee boy Peter was so excited to see it. When my other kids, John and Erin, came out there was only one ball left and then it disappeared completely.
"I am not sure if I believe in UFOs, but surely other people would have seen it – especially when it was over Kirkintilloch. I'm quite intrigued as to what it was.
"There have been a few sightings in the area. I had not thought anything was going on until I saw that. It was very unusual whatever it was."
