Youngster stabbed while walking through Bishopbriggs Park

A TEENAGER had to be rushed to hospital after being stabbed by an attacker.

The 16-year-old was targeted by two muggers in Bishopbriggs Park at around 7.30pm on Monday, February 25.

One of the men stabbed him in the chest before the pair fled with the youngster’s mobile phone.

The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and was released following treatment.

Detective Constable Steven Gault said: “This park is popular with the local community using the amenities, with people out running and people walking their dogs.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the park around the time of the incident to get in touch.

“It’s possible you may have noticed the suspects either prior to or after the incident, perhaps you saw them run off, if you have any information or knowledge, please do get in touch with us as your information could prove significant to the investigation and help us trace those responsible.”

One suspect was around 19-years-old, 5ft9in with a slim build and was wearing a grey hooded top, with the hood up and a black woollen hat.

The other was around 20-years-old, was wearing a dark tracksuit, and had a dog on a lead.
