A 12-year-old boy was knocked down by a car – bringing traffic to a standstill.

The accident happened on the A803 Kirkintilloch Road at around 7pm last Wednesday.

The boy was taken to Yorkhill Hospital, where his condition was described as stable.

The incident led to the closure of the road between Bishopbriggs Cross and Colston.

A 42-year-old woman has been reported to the procurator fiscal over alleged road traffic offences.
