Youngsters find Paradise in the hills...
A SUCCESSFUL scheme at Celtic's training ground in Lennoxtown has proved a real result for more than 2,000 youngsters.
More than 26 events have been held at the state-of-the-art facilities in June.
Local groups and schools enjoyed the free access through a deal brokered by Lennoxtown Initiative (LI) and the Parkhead club.
Events included a P7 football festival and an S1 girls' tournament.
Brian McAleenan, LI chief executive, said: "We have a terrific partnership with Celtic and, given the football season was over and there was spare capacity at the training centre, the club offered us exclusive access to the facility for the whole month of June.
"Co-ordinating the programme has been a real team effort with great support offered by East Dunbarton-shire Council's active schools co-ordinators and the SFA football development officers."
A number of events have been planned by Lennoxtown Initiative and East Dunbartonshire Council for July 2009.
These range from animation workshops to drama and street dance, and also include sporting activities such as tae kwon do and tennis.
