A LOCH on the outskirts of an East Dunbartonshire village is a step closer to being sold.
Antermony Loch, in Milton of Campsie, is owned by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Caurnie Angling Club and Campsie Outdoors both want to buy it. But the council announced in February that due to interest in the sale of the loch it would be advertised on the open market.
The council had asked Caurnie Angling Club, which has leased the loch since 1943, if they wanted to buy it.
Campsie Outdoors, which has lodges, a visitor centre and a shop behind the loch, say they had talks with the council back in 1997 about possibly managing it.
Grace Irvine, head of assets and property services, said: “The marketing period for Antermony Loch is complete and by the closing date of Friday, March 9, we had received several offers.
“Officers are currently reviewing those offers and a report will be presented to a future development and infrastructure committee for a decision by councillors.”
