Man suffers fractured eye socket in brick attack

VICIOUS thugs are being hunted after a man was smashed on the head with a brick.

The 21-year-old needed 18 stitches and suffered a fractured eye socket during the attack in Springburn.

He was coming out of Thomson’s Bar in Springburn Way, with another 21-year-old man, when he was struck on the head with a brick.

The injured man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police are looking for two male suspects in connection with the incident, which took place on Wednesday, November 7, at around 11pm.

In other police news:

* Graffiti was sprayed on the classroom door at a school during a break-in.

St Roch’s Primary in Royston was targeted over last weekend. The window of a classroom, which is used for hearing-impaired children, was smashed and stationary was stolen. The initials ‘RCS’ were sprayed on the classroom door.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police on 0141 532 4400.

* Thugs dragged a man out of his van and attacked him before driving off in his vehicle.

The 30-year-old was repeatedly punched during the assault in Coll Street, Germiston, on Sunday, November 11, at around 7.15pm.

His Ford Transit van was recovered a short distance away. The man was treated by paramedics at the scene. Police are looking for three men in connection with the incident.

* A 51-year-old Springburn woman has been charged with making persistent 999 calls and wasting police time.
