A VANDALISM rampage at the weekend has been condemned.

The two men, who were wearing balaclavas, left a trail of destruction across Lennoxtown a short time after police dispersed a party in Greenhead Road at 1am on Sunday.

Police say the men smashed up two cars and painted graffiti on another in Main Street and spray painted two other vehicles in North Birbiston Road.

The men also sprayed slogans referring to the police on four homes in Main Street, a house in Slatefield, a property in North Birbiston, The Swan Inn, Campsie Memorial Trust Hall and the Lennoxtown Medical Centre.

It is not yet clear what the financial cost of the damage will be.

Police Inspector Kenny Quigley, from Kirkintilloch Police Office, said: “This is a despicable act which has impacted on innocent members of the community causing them both distress and financial loss.

“The individuals responsible have clearly damaged their own community, showing complete disrespect.

“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and police will be doing all they can to trace the offenders, leaving no stone unturned.

“The police are appealing for information on the people responsible for these acts of vandalism so they can be brought to justice swiftly.”

Anyone with information about the incidents can contact Kirkintilloch Police Office on 0141 532 4400 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
