DISGUSTED residents whose post was found undelivered in a Kirkintilloch house are now starting to receive their missing items.
Royal Mail staff are currently trawling through the thousands of items found at the home of a former employee.
Once they have been identified and recorded they are being posted to the original recipients.
But it is already clear that money has been removed from many items.
Diane Patterson, from Harestanes, said: “I’ve just received a first birthday card for my wee boy which was posted out to us in January.
“It had £20 in it which has been taken.
“The lady sent another one by recorded delivery to replace it, but that one went missing as well.
“I’m now waiting for that one to turn up as well.
“I called up the Royal Mail to complain, but they said that they wouldn’t offer compensation for money sent through the post.”
