New group ‘Making The Most of Milngavie’ (MMM) has named the revival of the popular Milngavie Gala Week one of their first priorities.
MMM which recently submitted papers to Companies House to become a company limited by guarantee, now plans to pursue their Community Action Plan which is available to view online - www.milngaviedt.co.uk.
Members met recently for the first time to start working on some of their priorities after MMM established a Development Trust which will be able to apply for funding.
Wilson Blakey, one of the organisers, said: “We have had enough initial support from individuals and organisations to confirm that Milngavie Gala Week will begin with the Highland Games on June 11 and close with the BID organised Vintage Car Rally on June 18.”
In between, a range of events will be staged including a duck race on the Allander, a best kept garden competition, a cat show, concerts, funfair, and debating competition.
The list of activities will be added to at a meeting in the Fraser Centre on Tuesday, March 15 at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to go along and help them get off to a great start.
