MP calls for probe into Post Office move plans

An MP has called on Citizens Advice Scotland to investigate plans to move Lennoxtown’s Post Office from its current site.

Labour MP Gregg McClymont has highlighted particular concerns over the possible detrimental impact on services to customers if the proposed move by Post Office Ltd goes ahead.

He said: “The post office has been at the centre of the local community in Lennoxtown for many years and I am concerned that such a move may have a detrimental impact on those who make use of their local post office.

“In addition to the change in location, some services would no longer be available locally should the move go ahead, such as sending international parcels, travel insurance and passport check and send.”

The Kirkintilloch East MP has asked Citizens Advice Scotland to carry out an investigation into the impact the proposed move would have on services.
