A NEW stained glass window is set to be the latest poignant tribute to a campaigning councillor.

Campsie and Kirkintilloch North councillor Charles Kennedy passed away last year at the age of 63, and his life is already to be celebrated with the creation of a school library and a memorial garden.

Now his family have announced that a stained glass window especially designed in his memory will be unveiled at St Paul’s Church, in Milton of Campsie, on Sunday, May 5, with a dedication service taking place from 1pm.

His sister, Agnes Dempsey, said: “Charles was a deeply religious man so we thought it would be a fitting tribute.

“The window has been designed by Colin Stevenson, an artist from Milton of Campsie, and will portray Charles’ patron saint - St Michael the Archangel.”
