Police are appealing for information following the death of a man in the north of Glasgow.

At around 1710 hours on Friday 14 August 2015, at Broomfield Lane, near to St. Monance Street Springburn, a 36-year-old man was attacked by two males who ran off in the direction of Balgrayhill Road. The victim later died from his injuries.

Following a post mortem examination the death is now being treated as murder and the man can be named as Stephen Gannon who lived locally. Relatives are aware.

Detective Chief Inspector Allan Burton, from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to try to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

“We have detectives from across the country assisting with the investigation and we will have additional uniformed officers in the area”.
