A FORMER marine has started work as manager at the Marie Curie Hospice.
Steve Hughes will be interim manager at the Huntershill hospice for the next six months.
Mr Hughes was a Royal Marine for over 30 years, and also has experience of working as a trainer in Zimbabwe, a diplomat in Norway and as a member of NATO staff in Belgium.
The father-of-two told the Herald: “I am looking forward to working with all the staff and volunteers here at the Glasgow hospice and across Marie Curie.
“I have always admired the work of the charity in hospices and through the nursing service.
“It is an honour to be part of a team which provides such a worthwhile and valuable service to the local community and beyond.”
