n Employee Award - Going the extra mile (externally nominated).

n Young Employee of the Year (internally nominated).

n Team Award - Going the extra mile (internally nominated ).

n Team Award - Going the extra mile (externally nominated).

Council leader Rhondda Geekie said: “All of our employees do a great job and our STARs Awards have been designed to recognise outstanding contributions and celebrate employee success. It is ever more important to formally recognise those that go the extra mile in the challenging financial climate and continuous transformation agenda that our services continue to face.”

Nominations are being sought by 20 May and the short-list will be announced in early June.

Those short-listed in each category will be invited to the STARs Award 2016 celebration to be held in St Ninian’s High School, Kirkintilloch, on Thursday, June 16, where the winners will be announced.

Full details of the criteria and the nomination form can be found on the council’s website at www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk.

An information leaflet and the nomination form will also be available from the Community Hubs in Bearsden. Bishopbirggs, Kirkintilloch and Lennoxtown, and from the council HQ at Southbank Marina.

Councillor Geekie added: “We want to hear from all of you who feel you have received excellent service from a council employee or council team that deserve this recognition.

“You can complete the online nomination form or pick up a paper copy telling us why your nominee should receive an Award.”

“The judging panel is looking forward to receiving nominations, and we will announce our short-list in early June.”

The closing date for nominations is 12 noon on Friday 20 May and nominations can be submitted by email or post.
