A CYCLE co-op is hoping to ramp up the excitement with its new indoor BMX facility.

ED’s Cycle Co-operative opened its new facility at Huntershill Village on Sunday. The new centre, which has received ramps from Kirkintilloch Skatepark Initiative, opened weeks after Jo Swinson MP held a meeting to gather support for skatepark facilities in Bishopbriggs. It will be used by the cycle co-op’s BMX club.

Councillor Anne McNair, co-director of the cycle co-op, said: “This latest venture provides a great new opportunity for our young people locally.”

Mark Kiehlmann, founder of the cycle co-op, said: “I’m pleased with how it has turned out.”

The Bishopbriggs BMX Club meets at Huntershill Village, Unit 1B, 5 Auchinairn Road on Sundays from 7pm-9pm. For more information e-mail mark@edscyclecoop.org.uk. Mark Kiehlmann is pictured watching Christopher ‘Kat Man’ Eastwood in action with Andrew Ashworth and Ben King. (K21266)
