POLICE have questioned campaigners against a new housing development over messages posted about East Dunbartonshire Council on Twitter.
Adam Pengilly and Helen Clegg, from Robroyston, are now the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal over the alleged messages on the social networking site.
They are both part of the Stop the Build campaign, which was formed to protest against new homes being built at Auchinairn Road and Hillhead Road, in Bishopbriggs – which borders Robroyston.
A council spokesperson said: “We are co-operating with the police and will assist them with their enquiries. It would be inappropriate to comment further.”
