HOPES are high that long-running flooding problems could soon be sorted at a popular park.
Residents say Springfield Park, in Bishopbriggs, is often flooded because it’s below the level of the road and a pump to take the water away is broken.
However, David Devine, head of roads and neighbourhood services at East Dunbartonshire Council, said: “A contractor has been arranged to install a new pump, which will be done as soon as the current water level drops to allow access.
“In the meantime, the flooded area is being fenced off in the interests of health and safety.
“Once the new pump is installed, current flooding problems should be resolved.”
