POLICE rushed to a doctor’s surgery after receiving reports that a man had been dumped there with serious head injuries.
Patients watched in horror as a man covered in blood staggered into the Regent Gardens Medical Centre, in Union Street, Kirkintilloch.
The terrifying ordeal unfolded on Friday at around 1.35pm.
Workers and shoppers near the town centre medical practice said they heard sirens and saw police cars racing to the scene.
One eyewitness told the Herald: “There was blood everywhere.”
The front entrance to the medical centre was cordoned off and guarded by a police officer, who asked patients with appointments to access the surgery via the back door.
A spokesperson for Strathclyde Police said: “Police were called to a report of a 28-year-old man with serious injuries at a doctor’s surgery in Union Street, Kirkintilloch.”
Police also confirmed the injured man was taken to Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary by ambulance and that his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
As the Herald went to press it was understood that the injured man was recovering at home.
