Planning permission granted for new school in Bishopbriggs

Full planning permission to build a two-storey school with attached nursery in Bishopbriggs was granted at a meeting of the Planning Board on Tuesday, December 15.

East Dunbartonshire Council lodged the planning application via architect Archial NORR.

The new school will replace the existing Auchinairn Primary and Woodhill Primary schools and will be a two-storey primary school and nursery with car parking, playground areas and sports pitch. It is scheduled to open during session 2016/17.

The new school is part of the Council’s Primary School Improvement Programme and will be built on the site of the existing Woodhill Primary School on Kirriemuir Road, Bishopbriggs.

Councillor Billy Hendry, Chair of the Planning Board, said: “All representations were considered and permission has been granted with the relevant conditions in place.

“I am delighted we are now moving forward with the delivery of a new purpose-built school in Bishopbriggs.”
