A CAMPAIGN to restore a village park has swung into action.
A group of mums launched the campaign to upgrade and improve the facilities in Stepps Park recently, after North Lanarkshire Council told them it did not have the money to do the work.
The group, which was set up by mums from Stepps Mothers and Toddlers, recently carried out a six month consultation into the project and is now preparing to apply to a variety of organisations to secure the £120,000 needed to restore the playpark to its former glory.
Mum Margaret Li said: “It’s a great park and it’s right in the centre of Stepps.
“But the play equipment is poor and is only suitable for a young age group. We want to create something for children of all age ranges.”
