Police appeal for help in search for missing teenage boy

Officers are appealing for help in tracing a 16-year-old boy missing from the Balornock area of Glasgow.

Teenager Liam Reilly was last seen at 5.40pm on Tuesday in Wallacewell Quadrant.

He has been described as white, around 5ft 6inches tall, with short brown hair, slim build and brown eyes.

When last seen he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a black padded jacket and blue coloured trainers, possibly of Nike design, and pink socks.

A police spokesman said Liam has friends in the south side of Glasgow and officers have been speaking to them in an effort to locate him.

Police are also reviewing CCTV images from in and around the area.

Inspector Alan Bowater said: “There has been some activity on social media last night but we are keen to ensure that Liam is safe and well. I would urge anyone who has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts to please get in touch with us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
