Police appeal for witnesses after cyclist knocked off bike

The police are appealing for witnesses in connection with an accident involving a cyclist and a lorry in Torrance at the beginning of October.

A 50-year-old male cyclist was knocked off his bike on Thursday, October 1 at 5.15pm on Balmore Road near to it’s junction with Old Balmore Road, Torrance.

This was caused by an HGV lorry while it was overtaking the cyclist.

Constable Alastair Muir of Kirkintilloch Police Office, said: “The incident was witnessed by a taxi driver who initially stopped and spoke to the cyclist but unfortunately he did not leave his details. The cyclist thankfully only suffered superficial cuts and bruising although his bike was badly damaged.

“To date we have been unable to trace the taxi driver or identify the HGV.

“We’d be keen to hear from the taxi driver or any other motorists who witnessed this accident.
